Most people only know Göschenen as a stopover from their holiday trip to Italy. But Göschenen and its surroundings has more to show. It is a peaceful little village at the entrance to the Göscheneralp-valley, surrounded with beautiful mountain ranges. In summertime, the valley is an exceptional place for climbing and hiking-tours. It has also a wonderful reservoir lake, where you can fish, hike or just relax.
The alpine passes of the central Swiss Alps (Gotthard, Furka, Oberalp and Susten) are close by as well as 5 alpine huts run by the Swiss Alpine Club.
In wintertime, the ski resort of Andermatt is just a 10 minutes drive or a 20 minutes train ride away and a beautiful area for skiing or cross-country activities.
